Echo Beach Restaurants
Echo Beach is where Canggu's surfers and sunset crowds meet, and most of the good food is on one short road, Jl. Pantai Batu Mejan. We have been on that road since 2018, so here is where we would eat before or after the beach.

1. The Avocado Factory
That is us. We are open every day from 7am to 11pm, so you can come for breakfast before a surf or for dinner after sunset. Breakfast runs until 11.30am: Google lists the Avocado Pancake (Rp 90k) and Avo Steak & Eggs (Rp 205k) as our popular dishes. Later in the day there is the Poke Bowl (Rp 80k), the Vegan Avo Burger (Rp 100k) and the Korean Brisket (Rp 200k).
We have gluten-free options, but our kitchen is shared, so they are not suitable for anyone with coeliac disease.
2. The Goat Father
Our sister coffee roastery and bakery is connected to The Avocado Factory, and you can order from both menus. It opens at 6am, so it is good for a coffee and pastry on the way to the beach. See The Goat Father website for its menu.
3. COMO Beach Club
The beach club at COMO Uma Canggu sits right on Echo Beach. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner from a menu of Balinese, international and lighter dishes, with a Sunday brunch from 11am to 3pm. Non-hotel guests need a reservation.
4. Sensorium
Our neighbours on Batu Mejan, with a creative fusion menu from head chef William Salim.
5. Santorini Greek Restaurant
Greek and Mediterranean food, from mezze and souvlaki to moussaka and grilled octopus, with vegetarian plates for sharing. Popular with families.

A small grocery and coffee stop on the same road, handy for a quick coffee or snacks before heading to the sand.
Timing your meal around the beach
- Early surf: the waves are often best in the morning. Eat after, when breakfast is still on until 11.30am.
- Sunset: the sun sets behind the sea here, roughly between 6pm and 6.45pm depending on the month. Arrive about an hour early for a good spot.
- After dark: traffic on Batu Mejan gets slow after sunset. Walking from the beach is often quicker than a scooter.
- Tax and service: most menus add about 10% tax plus a service charge.
